This is a “Name the Movie and Genre” quiz for use in many lessons including Media Studies lessons. It shows 24 stills of films and they simple have to guess the film and the genre. I’ve run it for a range of lessons and it works very well. It can take between 30 and 45 minutes to do. Extension task is included in text at end.

This package includes two sheets; ‘Analysis of an art work’ deals with a series of questions about an artwork. This project is based around Shadow. It consists of 10 pages and a range of tasks that look at shadows. Also there is a page on the Artist Kumi Yamashita and the final work is focused on Shadow play and silhouette landscapes. The project is aimed at GCSE students.

This is a three document project. This includes an instruction sheet, a form the students fill out and a compiled list of careers in art. This can be used in a number of ways with a range of outcomes. This highlights a collage project but the resulting work can be used to stick in books for example instead. One of the goals of this project is to show students what can be achieved in the arts industry. This resource is aimed at 10 to 15 year olds.

This quiz features 24 stills of films. The students have to name the character and a prop they use in the film. It takes between 30 to 45 minutes to complete depending on how long you discuss at end. This does include a reading out the answers section (which is at the rear of the document) and then scoring. I find my students love these and it breaks up the standard lessons. I throw one of these in after a hard two or three weeks on the same subject.
