Introduce the life and works of William Morris with this informative and engaging presentation. William Morris was one of the most influential designers of the 19th Century. He is most famous for his floral wallpaper designs which remain as popular today as they were 150 years ago. This presentation will teach children about who the artist was, his style, his inspiration, his techniques and his legacy along with providing many examples of his work to look at. This presentation works well as an introduction to the artist before moving on to other William Morris themed projects. This resource has been used with children in years 3 and 4 but could also be useful for other age groups. (The presentation contains 13 pages)

KS2 Viking jewellery art activities

In this resource children will learn about Viking jewellery. They will explore what it was made of, why it was made and take a look at the popular patterns and motifs that Vikings used in their designs. Children will then design their own Viking style brooch before turning it into a 3D version made from clay or salt dough. They will then review their work. Included in this resource- A Viking jewellery presentation A Viking jewellery design a brooch worksheet A Viking jewellery review worksheet A Viking patterns handout A jewellery inspiration handout. This resource is aimed at KS2 level (years 4, 5 and 6). I have successfully used this full resource several times however if you are looking for something that takes less time children could just watch the presentation and then design a brooch without making it.
