A lesson-long role playing game in which pupils imagine themselves as an itinerant worker in 1930s America. They need to make difficult choices, and manage their finances, in order to achieve the American Dream and buy their own house by the end of the game. Great for introducing pupils to contextual concepts around the text, or as a pre-reading activity.

The twentieth (and final) lesson in a scheme of work on Romeo and Juliet aimed at lower ability KS4 students. A nice little end of unit lesson where pupils can make handy revision flashcards on each main character. Some resources and PowerPoint slides adapted to fit AQA specification requirements.

This is a series of lessons designed for Year 11, working up to writing a letter to Donald Trump, persuading him not to “push the big red button” and start a war. There are 5 lessons included, complete with all required resources. The two “sources” included to give pupils a little background information are Greta Thunberg’s 2019 speech to the UN on the climate crisis, and Siegfried Sassoon’s 1917 letter in protest of the continuation of World War One. Perfect practice for the weeks leading up to the final exams.

This workbook is designed for pupils to independently learn the key plot points of Jekyll and Hyde, with a summer holiday homework task in mind. Each chapter is covered in a single page, with a summary, a small extract from the original text, and some challenge questions for pupils to attempt.
