In this lesson children understand how to infer from pictures. Later they recieve an O-W-I chart and fill it in. OWI stands for Observe, Wonder, Infer. A plenary where pupils make their own sentence is availible at the end of the PPP. The only required item for this lesson is the book. NOTE: This lesson gives time for reading but is not based around the book. Inference in the book is in the next lesson. If you like this recourse then please rate it. However, this can be used to determine pupils knowledge about Harry Potter if you are about to start the topic. In this lesson based around front covers pupils learn about why books have many different front covers and what they do. The will fill out an audience & purpose sheet to help them when creating a book cover. Next, they will design and create an alternative book cover for a book and edit it at the end. This lesson is perfect for any reading/english linked lesson but would work amazingly on WBD. Attached is also a lesson plan with slide notes and timings. If run smoothly this lesson should take about >50 minutes. If you like this recourse please reveiw it. This allows me to post more content that suits you! I hope this is a help.
