It includes all questions and a variety of tasks and model responses. There is also tasks specifically targeting higher attaining students. As with all resources, the materials can be adapted to suit all students.

Included in this resource: 1 x PPT Whole Lesson 1 x Typed up charity transcripts This resource was created as part of a non-fiction scheme of work for KS3 students getting them to consider the purpose, audience and format of non-fiction text types. The lesson(s) resulted in students creating their own charity and writing a charity advert transcript for a television advert. I then got students to film their own charity advert using a class set of iPads using iMovie. Students found this engaging and something different to newspaper articles and formal letter writing.

Included in the resource: - 5 x PPT Poem lessons (including assessment lesson) - 1 x Purple Pen Language Techniques Lesson (reflecting on gaps in knowledge from the SoW) - 3 x accompanying worksheets - 4 x copies of poems This Scheme of Work was created for a very low attaining KS3 class. It can of course be differentiated and adapted for any ability. The resource includes analysis and exploration of poems associated with themes linked to the process of 'Growing Up'. It also includes a purple pen reflection lesson that targets language techniques.

Included in this resource: - 1 x PPT Whole Lesson (taking students through the newspaper production process) - 1 x Article planning sheet (effective on A3) Students were guided through the newspaper production process with the task of writing an article on teaching (challenging for a student!). The lessons ask students to interview their teacher (they found this engaging!) and then produce a newspaper article. The only extra resource you'll need is a variety of newspaper headlines cut out for one of the tasks (studying the importance of a headline). As with all resources, this can be adapted and differentiated easily.

There are many ways this lesson can be carried out, we have tried this as a written task (in books) as well as student-led presentations. Included in this resource: - 1 x AQA style Language Paper 1 (Questions 1-4) - 1 x PPT Research Page (introducing students to SoW) - 3 x PPT (Questions 1-4) - 1 x Transcript to accompany Questions 1-3 - 1 x Purple Pen Reflection Worksheet - 1 x Model Response/WAGOLL (David Attenborough Language Analysis - can be used as part of Purple Pen reflection lesson). These lessons were created to engage students using the well-loved BBC documentary 'Planet Earth'. The lessons work through all of the AQA Language Paper 1 questions (1-5 - 5 being the writing task). As well as completing the AQA style exam booklet, students should also write a descriptive piece - a commentary in the style of 'Planet Earth'. To inspire students with this task, it is advised that they find a relevant video clip/stimulus. The Purple Pen Reflection worksheet is to be used once students' commentaries have been graded. It has been used with both KS3 and KS4. As with all resources, this can be easily adapted.

Key Extracts - 5 x Context Information Sheets - 2 x Character Image Tasks These lessons were created as a Macbeth Revisited Scheme of Work to refresh students' memories of the key extracts and concepts in the play. Students are encouraged to acknowledge the AOs and the importance of clear, detailed links between contextual ideas and the play. There are also opportunities for students to include critical literature and ideas about the play thus stretching and challenging the high attaining. As with all resources, these could easily be adapted.
