This lesson is one of a series (scheme of work) to teach Marketing and covers the Promotion and the Promotional Mix.


This lesson has been designed for A Level, IB Diploma, and AP Business Studies.


This lesson has the following Learning Objectives:

  • Know the difference between promotion and advertising
  • Understand above and below the line promotions
  • Understand different promotional tools and their effectiveness
  • Evaluate which factors in a promotional mix should be used

All necessary resources to run the lessons are included in this download and all resources are for a double lesson (or two single lessons) i.e. there should be enough to content to cover around 1 hour and fifty minutes.
