Resources to be used as part of a Year 7 Geography lesson on flooding/flood defences. Small groups of students are each given a card with a reason for flooding; they must explain in their groups why that factor may increase/decrease the risk of flooding (then rotate the cards and feedback as a class). I have included an information sheet to be given out alongside this (can easily be turned into a gap fill!)

Also included is a PowerPoint presentation with the different types of flood defences. Students can complete a comparison table of each defence based on its cost, lifespan, appearance etc. and rank the defences.
