The same text twice with different words missing from each. Students read the text to their partner until they have two completed texts, then could translate into English. Used with my Y8 Spanish. Vocab from Listos 2.

Spanish PowerPoint based on the popular app. Students are shown four pictures and have to guess the word from the letters below. Good starter activity - my students love it! To go alongside PP60-61 of Listos 2 Rojo Powerpoint: Intro to places you can visit using 'hay&' Memory game Translation Writing Intro to &';se puede(n)' plus infinitive Reading Vocab golf: do this at start and end of lesson. Students give each word a score depending on how well they know it and add up these scores. Score should have gone down by end of lesson, showing progression. Any feedback welcome! PowerPoint to introduce countries/cities and transport vocabulary. Students are in charge of filling in their vocabulary grid - they will need this for the translations.... I asked my students to pick any five sentences to be translated - could be 3 easy or 2 difficult - whatever they like. Plus an extension if they get that far.
