Year 2 Maths Planning (Time). 1 Week

Here we have a week of planning (5 lessons) on time. The planning is aimed at Grade 1 (Australia) or Year 2 (England). The Learning Objectives are: To tell the time on an analogue and digital clock to every 5th minute. To find the time that is earlier or later than a given time. To measure and record time. To solve word problems involving periods of time. The planning has been designed to be easily adaptable for lockdowns/home learning. This is why the whole week is on one single PowerPoint which clearly details the learning objectives, the instructions along with 3 differentiated tasks for each day. This can easily be uploaded to applications such as Seesaw for home learning. Notes are also included for the teacher where extra information is required which is not relevant for the children to see.

Minibeast Bingo

A great starter activity for KS1 when teaching mini beasts or insects in Science. Print this resource several times, laminate and cut up the photos and hide in a tray with shredded paper. Place a tray on each table and challenge the children to work together to place the photos they find on the correct name of each mini beast. The table to complete first is the winner! This resource is differentiated by having a brief description of some of the more difficult to identify mini beasts, such as distinguishing between the damselfly and the dragon fly, written on the card…

All About Me. Booklet to go home for parents. EYFS

(0)
A booklet to send home to your parents during the first week of school. This booklet will serve as a great transition between the home and school for the child as it will allow them to draw pictures and (with help from an adult) answer the questions about themselves such as what they can do and what they like to play with. This All About Me booklet serves September well as generally, EYFS classrooms focus on learning about ourselves and each other. This gives each child a great opportunity to stand up and present their completed booklet and talk about it (themselves)

Cooking on an Open Fire

Cooking on an Open Fire

(14)
This lesson plan/ activity will guide you through cooking on an open fire with your children. It is intended for children aged 4-10 but can easily be extended for slightly elder children. The activity follows the Forest School approach to fire making. The plan guides you through the process of getting the children involved (gathering fuel) and having them prepare and cook the food (Camp Fire Pizza!). I recommend this session be carried out when the practitioner has complete confidence in the behaviour of the children. This suits nicely towards the end of a series of Forest School sessions.
