A PowerPoint presentation and Word worksheet that recaps key moments in Act 3 of Macbeth. The lesson includes:
- Summarising task and comprehension tasks for key moments.
- Key moments that are condensed, sequenced and extracted (can easily be printed for pupils).
- Tasks asking students to link to themes, evaluate the importance of themes, depict the act and explain key quotations.
- Consolidation worksheet for students to complete in class or as homework revision.
I have used this resource with my KS4 students to revise for AQA English Literature, Paper 1. We spent several lessons going through this presentation in detail, but it can also be skimmed through at a quicker pace if you have less time.
Key quotes for a variety of important characters in 'Macbeth', on my custom watercolour background. These posters aim to show the development of characters throughout the play, and act as a quick guide for students to refer to when writing and revising.
This lesson helps students to understand what exactly imagery is. Students engage with a variety of examples of imagery from literature, before getting the opportunity to listen to and respond to a poem themselves. I have used this lesson with KS3 and KS4 students for poetry and descriptive writing, but it could work across a variety of ages and abilities.

This full size display shows students the steps they need to take in order to write an effective English Literature essay at GCSE level. Simply print onto coloured paper and arrange in your classroom.
The resource includes:
- All signage for the display, including titles and the steps for writing an essay
- 'Top tips' sheets which can be filled out by students or the teacher
- A5 printable version of the display that can be given to students to refer to (can also be bought separately - see my store for details).
- A photograph of the completed display that can be used to help with arrangement or inspiration

This display is a famiy tree of for form, structure and language. It has really helped my GCSE pupils understand how the elements of writing are linked and they refer to it frequently. Simply print onto coloured paper and use the map to position your display.
The file includes
- Close up, zoomable image of the display
- Map of the display
- All of the labels in an uneditable version and editable version, in sections so you can simply load up your printer with coloured paper and the 'families' will print together e.g. all of the punctuation words will be together, all of the forms etc.
- Blank templates so you can add your own words
- The title cards
PLEASE NOTE: I used washi tape to create the lines connecting my labels so you will need this or something similar (such as masking tape) to do this.

An A4, alphabetical list of key categorised key terms and what they mean. Originally used for AQA English Literature revision, this is an editable document that can be adapted for your requirements. Works as a great revision tool or a quick check list to help sturggling students.

This is a creative lesson which gives pupils the opportunity to imagine they are producing their own version of Blood Brothers. From casting, lighting and scenery to story boarding pivotal moments, this was a really enjoyable lesson that helped students to visualise the play. I taught it after we had finished the whole text, and it was very well received by students!
A full lesson on the significance and purpose of the narrator in the 'Blood Brothers'. Includes:
- The use of staging and what this suggests about the character
- Skimming and scanning activities to track the narrator through the text
- Discussion of why the narrator is presented as he is
- Links to GCSE Language Paper 1 (AQA) with an opinion question in the style of question 4.
Handy checklists for students taking GCSE English Literature with AQA. Can be used for flashcards, tests or as a handout - these cheat sheets provide information on how to answer the anthology question and the two unseen questions.

This is a complete set of 14 lessons on ‘Blood Brothers’, designed for KS4 students preparing for AQA English Literature. The lessons are broken down by song so no matter which version of the text you have copies of, it should be easy to follow. It covers the whole play and I used these lessons as an accompaniment to reading the text for the first time.
Also included in this set is a copy of my best-selling Blood Brothers knowledge organiser, which is a great revision tool and can be used for setting homework. In addition to this, I have included my consolidation sheets for Act 1 and Act 2, which make a great independent revision activity.

Simply play the powerpoint and these key quotations will cycle rapidly until you click your mouse. Ask students to name who said the quote, what it's about, and when in the novel it occurs. Great as a quickfire starter to check pupil knowledge.
