An aide-mémoire! Lists of food and drink to use with any year or ability. Plenty of space to add more vocab’ as pupils come across it. Print double-sided to make a booklet. NOTE: my PC has corrected the French “vanille” to the English, “vanilla”. Can’t yet find a way to change it back: please get your students to correct it! I might do this by asking them to find the deliberate mistake… :)

Petits Boulots: French vocabulary presentation with pictures for jobs around the house plus opinions to use as an aide-mémoire or a way to introduce the words. Good for HW learning or cover.

Spanish classroom objects game.

La Maison A French group activity to help describe your house. Décrit sa maison How does it work? First, give everyone a copy of the text. Learners start by filling in the literacy sheet on this. Next, randomly give out the pictures which you (of course in all that spare time you’ve got…) have printed and cut up. Learners then use the text as a basis for writing by working as a group. They can then present their writing to the class at the end. The class try to work out which property they have described and give reasons why. Alternatively… not in the mood for group work? Give each learner a picture to do the writing individually. Or even in pairs! Bon courage…

French Distance Learning Pack (Personal Information) Useful for cover, home learning, starter activities, revision or homework. **No prep’! This resource can stand alone and be accessed by learners independently. ** This 47 page distance learning pack is based on vocabulary from Studio 1 Unit 1, personal information: animaux/araignées/capoeira/chats/chiens/cinéma/consoles de jeux/danse/foot/gâteaux/opinions/hair/eyes/personality…) but would work well as a stand-alone resource as well. A Tarsia puzzle. Search for Tarsia software so you can open it! Could be a good starter to check progress once vocab’ covered/basis for discussion of new vocabulary if introducing the vocabulary as new. Good for pairs to discuss language. Could set a time limit to create some competition! Contains vocab’ such as être/avoir/family members. The puzzle has to be cut out into triangles and then placed French to English to create a shape.

Reading comprehension/gap-fill/matching exercises. May help with reading and listening tasks you will do or can be a stand-alone document to go alongside what you already do. Contains some higher level language. Tip: set short time limits per block of questions and go through them with the class when the time's up! Then move on. Keeps them on their toes and avoids inattention and lack of motivation if they find a particular task hard. Or, use the sheet as starters over a series of lessons. The bottom exercise has one answer missing: hopefully superlearners will spot this ;)

Little tickets for use in the French classroom. Use as you wish as tokens/rewards. I give them for speaking and collect them in for a draw at the end of a lesson or week. Write names on back. Winners receive rewards according to your school system.

Noël: A pack of French Christmas resources for years 7 to 11. 5 or more sheets per year group which eliminates the need to scrabble around every year as they are all different. Starts basic for Y7 with vocabulary based sheets/word search etc and by Y11 they have some multiple choice reading comprehension to do. If you can’t fit these in to your SoW, why not use them for French club, HW or just for keen beans! I’ve included a PDF of everything plus another copy which has hints/tips/answers also brought over from the original. Note: they print landscape.
