After looking at and discussing real instruments, the three worksheets involve sorting different musical instruments e.g. blowing, bang/hit, shake or pluck and then labelling the same. They can be adapted for differentiation.
There is some basic information about the Crimean War - opportunity for children to research more and how it prompted two pioneering nurses to go to the Crimea to use their nursing skills.
Please adapt Information Sheet to suit needs of pupils to complete the missing information in Worksheet 1.
Worksheet 2 is Cross-curricula - Geography link - See how many countries the chn can label by comparing Worksheet 2 with labelled map of the world.
Literacy link - children choose adjectives to describe the nurses and write sentence using 'because'.
This resource contains two free worksheets in PDF editable form fields for students to complete sentences with CVC words by either typing in their answers or printing off worksheets and completing by hand.
When the sheets are completed, students ‘Save As’ with their name if they have typed in their answers.

This resource contains sentences for dictation on PowerPoint.
Also well being suitable for Keystage, all the dictated texts can be used in EFL/ESL and ESOL classes.
There is also an audio recording of the text. You can play the recording of text 18 or print off the text and read it aloud to the children.
After the dictation, outlined in Teacher’s Notes, display the text on PowerPoint for students to self-correct in a different colour pencil.
The National Curriculum objectives are outlined in the PowerPoint - in short to write from memory a dictated passage whilst holding the pencil appropriately.
It gives students the opportunity to practise their spelling.

This resource contains a variety of Valentine’s Day theme worksheets and flash cards relating to emotions and feelings. Students can review different kinds of emotions and increase their vocabulary. You can differentiate the activities. For example, students can match words to facial emotions and/or match faces that are the same. They can play matching games with the cards once they are laminated and cut apart.
You can prepare cards for write the room activity and print out the worksheets. Place the cards that match the pictures on the worksheets around the classroom for students to walk round and find the matching picture card and then write the emotion opposite the correct picture on their worksheet.

This phonics pack focuses on initial consonant blend ‘pr’ CCVC words.
As with the other consonant blends packs:
it is child-centred and child-friendly and
Phase 4: Letters and Sounds Phonics.
Aimed at: Foundation stage and Keystage 1, SEND and ESL/EFL students.
It is an addition to my other resources on initial consonant blends.
This pack contains:
Flexible Lesson Plan with learning objectives, lesson starter, main activities and plenary - You can choose which parts are relevant to your class. PowerPoint slides are referred to in the plan.
Because the lesson plan is flexible you can choose a 15 min phonic input, 30 mins or an hour phonics input.
PowerPoint Presentation 1 (29 Slides)- includes explanation of initial blend, CCVC words and whole class activities to prepare children for their independent activities. It also explains meanings of words through pictures.
PowerPoint Phoneme Presentation (17 Slides)- Optional (Use as reference - some children may still be struggling with segmenting/blending) - I have listed all the CCVC words (13) and the units of sound above the fingers so that children can see and hear the separate phonemes (with pictures) - extension some children may be able to give you other meaning for the words in a sentence.
I have illustrated through clipart words such as ‘press’ ‘prep’ ‘prim’, ‘prop’ and ‘prom’.

This resource relates to CVC phonic word work. These are worksheets you can use to supplement your work on CVC words using the medial vowels a, e, i, o and u. The worksheets are in colour and black and white.

This comprehensive resource contains groups of word families - onset and rime.
<strong>There are PowerPoint Presentations to teach the word families which contain: </strong>
Whole class teaching via the Presentations , e.g. saying the onset and rime and seeing why they rhyme.
