Use it during the first week back at school and find out about the children you’ll be teaching and children can find out about each other’s family and interests. Alphabet resource for display and alphabet activities. This resource contains the following:- Teacher’s Notes • Aa to Zz frieze showing pictures beginning with initial letter. Laminate and punch holes and thread through with a string to hang around the classroom or peg onto a washing line across a wall/classroom. Aa – Zz word strips and related pictures • Laminate and cut out • Can be used as an extension activity. Children trace round the initial dotted letter which shows a picture for that letter. Alphabet cards • Alphabet cards should be printed off twice, laminated and cut out. • Children can play alphabet snap • Other games – lay out 4 or 5 letters in alphabetical order ,e.g. k, l, m, n, o, cover them over. Take a letter away without the children seeing and ask what letter is missing. • Matching lower case to upper case letters activity. Practise writing frames using Sassoon dotted font • These are in upper and lower cases. Each one should be laminated. • After focussing on e.g. ‘t’, children can practise writing over the dots and then without the dots as handwriting exercises. Alphabet Mat Practise (trace over dotted letters) Photocopy these and laminate • Children can keep it in their trays for reference; • can practise their handwriting if they finish their work early or for those children who need to practise fine motor skills. Practise writing frames using Sassoon dotted font • These are in upper and lower cases. Each one should be laminated. • After focussing on e.g. ‘t’, children can practise writing over the dots and then without the dots as handwriting exercises. Alphabet Mat • Can be laminated and blu tac to the wall in the writing/reading/book corner. • Can be used to assess a child’s phonic progress. Alphabet Pictures Games/Assessment • The pictures represent the start of a letter e.g. ‘g’ for grasshopper. The pictures are not in alphabetical order so that you have to look for the picture. • Enlarge the A4 size sheet to A3 and the sheet with the alphabet tiles. • Laminate the Alphabet Pictures grid • Laminate the Alphabet sheet then cut out each letter for use with Alphabet Pictures grid. • Children can play in pairs. A timer can be set so that children have a limited time to place the letter on the correct picture. • Players take turns to ask his/her partner to find the picture beginning with, e.g. ‘s’. The player picks out one of the letters and places it over the correct picture sound on the Alphabet Picture Mat. This resource material is for countries using the euro currency: euros and euro cents. Aimed at KS1/Kindergarten/Grade 1 and ESL/EFL students. Updated on 17 May, 2022 to include different ways the euros/cents are written. There are now three versions which you can choose to download. The presentation is a step-by-step approach to teaching euros/cents. <strong>This pack contains:</strong> A comprehensive PowerPoint Presentation (46 Slides) - divided into convenient sections. Identifying and describing coins and their value Adding up cents and adding prices of items Looking at combination of coins and comparing/matching coins of equivalent value, e.g. five 1 cents is worth the same as a 5 cent coin. Giving change - working out how much change you would get from 5c, 10c, and 20c. The Presentation also includes whole class activities and different strategies students can use to work out money problems. There is a separate Presentation on general introduction and a list of countries that use euros as their currency. 4 Flexible Lesson Plans - contains objectives, plenaries and main lesson. This maths resource relates to place value: tens and ones. Please note it is a hands on resource and the lesson plan should be used in conjunction with the presentations as there is a lesson starter presentation. It can be used for reviewing tens and ones or teaching it from scratch, so the detailed lesson plan is flexible. Some preparation is needed to carry out the activities such as collection of different coloured straws, elastic bands, suggested materials such as counters, unifix cubes; cut out the 1 digit number tiles for the worksheet or you can get children to select two numbers from a pile, write it down and then describe the place value - see 5. in the list below. This product contains: Lesson Starter PowerPoint Presentation - Counting in tens from 0 to 100 and back. Also included is the Hundred Square if you need to demonstrate counting in steps or groups of 10. <strong>This resource is about the lost son parable relating to forgiveness. It is for whole school assembly.</strong> It contains: PowerPoint Presentation Teacher’s Guide on how to conduct the assembly Playscript of the Parable Posters for display Cross-curricular to Religious Studies and Citizenship. The theme is ‘forgiveness’ based on The Parable of the Lost Son. Learning Objective: To understand what forgiveness means. Children are asked why we should say ‘sorry’ and understand the meaning of forgiveness and understanding. The children are asked about their own experience of getting hurt and wanting that person to say sorry and what it feels like if they don’t apologize. They are taken through the story and asked questions along the way. I’ve written a playscript based on the story. You may wish to have a group of children act out the story instead of reading it on the slides. There are questions on the slides for children to think about.

In this resource students read sentences with missing rhyming CVC words and choose the correct rhyming word to match the highlighted word in each sentence. They also complete words with missing beginning and ending sounds and blend to read CVC words. Set 1: Worksheets A to F - (24 sentences) There are 4 sentences on each page. Students read each sentence and then match the highlighted word with the correct rhyming word. Students choose one out of the three choices in the box. **Set 2: Worksheets 1 to 5 ** Students are to use their phonic knowledge to complete each word with a beginning and ending sound. Then they write the words out on the handwriting lines. **Set 3: Worksheets 1 to 5 ** These worksheets are for students who need practice in sounding out letters in CVC words. He/she sound out each letter pointing to the sound buttons beneath each letter. When they have blended the sound to make the word, he/she can then write the word out. This is a set of money worksheets relating to working out change from £5 and £10 notes and answering money word problems. You can use these worksheets as an extension to your lesson, as worksheets for early finishers or for group work. Content: Teacher Notes Worksheets A to C: Students work out change back from £5 Students deduct the price of the item bought from £5. Worksheets A to C: Students work out change back from £10 Students deduct the price of the item bought from £10. Worksheet on doubling money and associated word problems In Part 1 there is a table to complete, i.e. doubling the price of each item. In Part 2, questions (a) to (e), students answer the questions which relate to the activity in Part 1. Worksheet on halving money and associated word problems In Part 1 there is a table to complete, i.e. halving the price of each item. In Part 2, questions (a) to (e), students answer the questions which relate to the activity in Part 1. I have uploaded two sets of lower case letters a to z to be printed onto card paper and laminate. A lovely addition to your Alphabet/Phonic station. Aimed at EYFS/Year 1, EFL/ESL students Children practise moulding dough on top of the letters with dough/ plasticine. Children practise writing inside the letters with different colour drywipe pens. Print out as many times as you like - children can draw pictures beginning with the name of the letters. Opportunity to use as a teaching resource showing children how to form lower case letters.
