A Spreadsheet designed to use ICT to explore number sequences and exponential growth. The Spreadsheet uses the idea of the Fibonacci sequence and the ‘One Grain of Rice’ story, to explore students’ understanding of number sequences and exponential growth, whilst practising their Excel skills.

A resource that uses Excel Spreadsheets with embedded PowerPoints to allow students to explore ‘number stories’ based on two simple number sequences. One looks at the Fibonnaci sequence and uses Excel to calculate the sequence and create a pie chart that reflects a Fibonnaci spiral. The other looks at the ‘One Grain of Rice’ story and uses Excel to calculate the number of rice grains, bowls, etc.

A Spreadsheets resource originally designed around the 2014 World Cup that could be applied to any World Cup or Football project. Includes a World Cup Goals spreadsheet, information on goals for students to enter, Powerpoint images and the link to the Youtube video of the World Cup song, as well as instructions for students. A good resource to engage students who like football.

‘A Day at Appleby’ is an easy read book for older readers that I originally wrote for an adult learner with an interest in the Appleby Horse Fair. The book uses mainly simple words (with some sight words) and pictures to tell a story set at the Appleby Horse Fair.
