I am currently working in a mixed secondary school based in Dublin. I have worked with most of the years during my time but last year spent the year with 3rd year students. Communications & Literacy - PLU 1 Elements: 1.7 - 1.11 Using non-verbal behaviour to get message across. Identifying range of non verbal communication methods, how to use non verbal behaviour, relay a response or request non verbally. Respond non verbal signs and symbols and be able to follow a sequence of non verbal instructions. (1 of the instruction worksheets is a practical activity and needs an ikea crate to complete it). There are 2 other instruction worksheets who don’t need equipment :)

Identify key safety risks in the workplace/home/community, e.g. trailing leads, plugs, TV and electrical equipment and what do to stay safe. Recognise when personal safety is threatened, e.g. bullying. Bullying situations and responses. What is bullying? Whats a bystander? Promote personal safety. Appropriate response when a risk is identified, e.g. find a safe exit, contact person/organisation. Risk situations activites such as snapchat messages, peer pressure etc. How to respond to a fire drill, talk about / list the steps that you should follow if you see a fire. Fire Exits in your building.
