Created for distance learning used during the lockdown period but can be easily adapted or used in the classroom. Works alongside the OCN unit of Applying for jobs and courses but will easily work for any PSD of tutorial lesson on employability skills. Used for Entry level and Level 1 learners within the Foundation department (FE college). 4 x PowerPoint lessons, including tasks with timers, videos and feedback. 15 page workbooks at levels 1 and 2 aimed at developing communication skills in the workplace. Developed for use with small groups of students with additional needs this resources can be easily edited and differentiated to suit. Links to the criteria within the OCN/AIM qualifications but can be easily adapted for other awarding bodies, small group/121 work or non accredited home study. Gives the student a vocational context (working at a chocolate company and being asked to produce a seasonal product), students are encouraged to learn and think about different methods for communicating with colleagues at work, positive and negative communication and the impact of this. They are also tasked with creating a prototype product, embedding key literacy and numeracy skills. A varied mis of tasks to support engagement.
