Unit 1 Place Value: Topic 3 Ordering and Comparing Numbers This resource includes: Anchor Charts Vocabulary Slides, activities, and cards Diagnostic Test 6 Lessons 6 Practice Sheets Lesson objectives and Standards This resource is a part of a differentiated math curriculum for grades K-6. The year is broken up into 7 Units: Place Value Addition/Subtraction Multiplication/Division Algebraic Thinking Parts of a whole (Fractions and Decimals) Measurement Geometry Each topic is broken up into many more units (this is the first topic in the first unit). These units should be taught over a span of 4 or 5 weeks. How It Works: The curriculum lays out each concept in the progression of how it is taught by concept, not by grade level. It is made with the intention of filling gaps. Each lesson has an objective and a note as to what grade and standard are being covered. There is also a calendar guide to help each grade level teacher know how much time to spend on each topic within a unit. Each unit comes with a diagnostic test to be given at the beginning of the unit. This test will help the educator know which lessons to teach and which topics to focus on within the unit. That way you know what skills your students are missing from previous grades and what they will need to know in future grades. This may be helpful if: You teach homeschool and have kids in different grades You have a mixed class with multiple grade levels You have one grade level, but the students have learning gaps You have advanced students who are ready for the material for the next grade AND you have students who are needing gaps fill from past material It is a math unit that comes ready to be DIFFERENTIATED to fit the needs of EACH little learner you are teaching! This is a creative writing assignment to help teach students about persuasive writing. There are 4 different levels of the assignment so it can meet the needs of a variety of skill levels and grades (k-8th). In society today, we are influenced by many different forms of media. To help illustrate this, there is a second part to this project where students will take their writing and create a visual written form of their opinion. Read the prompt and ideas below. Create a brainstorm/prewrite on the topic. Use the brainstorm/prewrite to write a persuasive writing piece. Write a few sentences, paragraph, or essay explaining your opinion. Make sure to include a topic or thesis statement, reasons for your opinions, examples, and explanations of each reason, and a conclusion. Then choose a writing form from the list and then pick one of the prompts below to convince someone of your opinion. Create a digital or paper version of a letter, email, pamphlet, app/website (get creative with a paper version of an app with different screens/pages), blog, debate, or advertisement.
