One off lesson introducing students to Spanish Phonics and Accents. Includes; Common sounds Accent location Stress on accents How accents can change meaning Transcription task Accent location task

A card game in for the jobs topic in Spanish. Students can practice their speaking using the infinitives in different tenses. Students work in pairs, split the pack and speak about the different categories. Arrows indicate the whether the category needs to be low or high to win the point, and the card. Student with the most cards at the end wins.

6 weeks worth of lessons (with approx 1 45-60 min lesson a week) for Year 3 Spanish. Each week includes a PowerPoint and a worksheet to go alongside the slides. They have a focus on phonics and vocabulary as well. There are also card games and songs included

Here are examples of writing assessments for Key Stage 3. They reflect the 40 and 90 word writing tasks. They include a marking section for targets and feedback that can be personalised to each student with a highlighter. The GCSE mark scheme is also included at the bottom. (The mark scheme reflects the current GCSE) This can be adapted for any language and any targets. For examples of how I use them, please head to my Instagram page!

This works well with the class split into two teams.

Key Stage 3 MFL writing feedback sheets. Essentially the markscheme for the GCSE AQA 90 word writing question in Key Stage 3 friendly vocabulary. Easily adapted but great printed with sections highlighted for WWW and EBI, clear colourful feedback given and stapled into books. Removes the element of writing targets as it’s highlighted for students to see

Guess Who game for MFL or EAL learners.

Fully adaptable pen, paper dice template. Students have a sheet each (you could use different levels, or just one for all), and a pen and a dice between 2. They take turns to roll a 6, the first player to roll a 6 wins control of the pen and starts translating filling in the gaps. The second player is still rolling for a 6. When they’ve gotten a 6 they yell 6 and have control of the pen. Students all know how to play this so for a COVID safe version they will have their own pen, paper and dice.

Double sided A4 grammar sheet that consolidates the present tense in French. QR codes are embedded with links to handy grammar videos and explanations

QR codes on a powerpoint slide with links to Quizlet, Memrise and Word reference. Easily editable with the link in the comment section - just copy your own links then snipping tool the code over. I have also embedded the link to the code image, so that students can use this on a computer. Otherwise, this will be stuck in their books for them to use their phones.

Attached is a first lesson for French and Spanish aimed at Year 7, but slides can be used and adapted for any year group.
