Questions which can be used for any text to get children thinking about the story after they have read it. Can be filled in my HA or scribed for LA. Makes for good assessment at the end of a story focus. Have stuck into their Literacy books.

Simple plan template for children to plan a story before writing it.

Stories by the same author. Different sentences/phrases typed up from Julia Donaldson books: A squash and a squeeze, Sharing a shell and Follow the Swallow. My class really enjoyed spliting them into groups. SOme chose 'people, animal, object&' others chose to group sentences according to punctuation or language. They were allowed to chose whether to use a venn diagram (hoops on floor) or large carroll diagrams I made up. I used this as a start for thinking about similarities and differences in books by the same author.

Draw and label two monsters. I then used this to write a character description used for fictional writing assessment.

Here are some normal and some silly sentences. Children work together to sort them into silly and non-silly.

A very simple template to support children to start laying a report out correctly with sub-headings and pictures related to each paragraph.

Bookmarks that children's individual can be typed onto, laminated and sent home. When children have achieved their target, they can move onto the next. All bookmarks have a picture of a real book on.

Homework, add capitals and question marks to these sentences.
