Are you looking for a way to teach your students the scientific method in a fun and easy way? Do you want to spark their curiosity and interest in science? Do you want to make them think like real scientists? I understand it is difficult to teach Science to young students. This worksheet is based on a simple and exciting experiment: creating a tornado in a jar. I used this worksheet for a STEM (Science) week and students were engaged with this simple experiment. Comparing the drawing picture before and after an experiment helps students see how their learning and understanding have improved. It also helps them to visualize the new information and findings that they gained from the experiment. This worksheet is a template that helps students write a science report step by step. The report contains the following sections: • Title: Tornado in a Jar • Question: What does a tornado look like? I show students the Tornado in a Jar video or teacher’s demonstration experiment before the actual student’s experiment. • Hypothesis: Students draw what they think will happen in the jar before the actual experiment. From this step, while doing the experiment or after the actual hands-on experiment, fill out the following worksheet pages. • Materials: Students label the items they use in the experiment, such as a glass jar, water, and dish soap. • Procedure: Students draw the four steps of the experiment in the template. • Results: Students re-draw what they see in the jar while observing the actual experiment. • Conclusion: Students write what they learned from the experiment while comparing their hypothesis drawing and their results drawing. I would appreciate it if you could leave a review and share your feedback with me. Your opinion matters a lot to me and it will help me improve my work. Thank you for your support and enjoy the experiment! I hope you and your students have fun with this worksheet. My first Science lab report: Tornado in a jar for Science experiment
