I love resources that ensure all pupils are able to access & feel confident within lessons. It makes me sad when a pupil feels stressed because they don't get it. I love hearing a pupil say "I am on it miss". All resources for main part of lessons are differentiated to 3 if not 4 levels of progress. Learners play in pairs to try connect four in a row. Take it in turns when pupil x chooses a question both pupils do it in their book. Pupil x puts his name on that square then pupil y chooses a sum. We use all types of colourful post it notes and then display around the room. Occasionally we complete in pairs as a poster.

Resource; 5 lesson starters (Exam Warm Ups) – all based on the same skills. The colour represents the levels of difficulty or more how many marks in the exam they would be worth. I use these particularly with my KS3 groups to build confidence on quick win questions for GCSE, I also use them with my lower ability year 11 group for starters. Topics covered; Standard form, fraction of amount, exterior/interior angle of pentagon and hexagon, basic probability worded problem, solving inequalities. Contains; 1. 5 sets of exam warm up questions. 2.Improvement of key skills in the exam, these were areas that my pupils fell down on in the most recent exam. Pupils tend to show progress by lesson five and feel confident with these skills. 3. 5 sets of solutions. 4. Instructions (very simple, one line here) - Display on the board. Let pupils complete in their books. Each lesson 15 minutes earning essential marks in the exam. 5. They have mastered the topic not necessarily through problem solving but through showing confidence in fluency questions without support. I wanted to see if pupils really understood collecting like terms and forming expressions. Activity based around using as a worksheet or MWB task so that you can clearly see the answers of all pupils. Really effective and pupils understand task perfectly. Has been used with Ks3 and Ks4 classes.
