Counting in halves, thirds, and quarters using number lines and every day examples.
This is aimed at primary aged children learning about ordering fractions, counting by fractions, recognising fractions in the world around them.

For Curriculum for Excellence Experiences and Outcomes:
Having explored fractions by taking part in practical activities, I can show my understanding of:

  • how a single item can be shared equally;
  • the notation and vocabulary associated with fractions; and
  • where simple fractions lie on the number line.
