Culture and nature - 1.15 GCSE Sociology AQA - Unit 1

This lesson is the 15th in my AQA GCSE SOCIOLOGY Unit 1 of 20 lessons.

This lesson is developed using the scheme of work provided by the AQA.

Culture and nature

  • What is culture? (Refer back to lesson 1).
  • Nature vs nurture (refer back to lesson 11).
  • Feral children.
  • Sociobiology.

Activities

  1. Vocabulary Starter (10 mins): Define “Culture” and “Sociobiology” (Worksheet).
  2. Discussion (20 mins): Is there such a thing as ‘free will’? Nature vs. Nurture.
  3. Case Study (20 mins): Research and present on feral children (using online resources).
  4. Video: About he different type of cultures in the UK.
    English: Write a reflective piece on influences on their identity.
    E&D: Discuss cultural diversity in Britain.
    Differentiation: Provide guided research questions for the feral children case study.
