Mis clases: Writing practice

Complete each set of short sentences about your daily schedule. In the first blank, write the Yo form of tener (to have). Use a different class and a different adjective for each set from the word bank provided or come up with your own. Be sure that your adjective agrees in number and gender. In the last two blanks write the start and end time of each class in Spanish.

Students will write about 8 classes and their lunch period.

A word bank is included with a list of classes, adjectives, numbers, and info on how to tell clock time.

Example:

Note: All sentences are structured the same except for the period (primera, segunda etc). The sentence about the lunch period includes 3 blanks (time, where, and with whom).

En la primera hora yo ________________ la clase de ______________________.

La clase es _______________________ (adjective).

El / La profesor(a) es __________________________.

Hay _____________________ estudiantes.

La clase empieza _________________ y termina __________________.

Additional speaking activity (Pages 5-9)

This activity has the same guidelines and activity as the example above except students can also interview a classmate about each period with the questions provided after the complete their sentences.

Example:

  1. ¿Qué clase tienes tú en la primera hora? / 2. ¿Cómo es la clase? (Give 1 adjective) / 3. ¿Quién enseña la clase? (Quién: who / enseña: teaches) / 4. ¿Cuántos estudiantes hay en la clase? (Cuántos: how many) / 5. ¿A qué hora empieza la clase? / 6. ¿A qué hora termina la clase?

This practice can be used in Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 classes. It can be used with chapter 2A of Realidades 1. The speaking activity (pages 5-9) can be done in pairs or small groups.

The written practice can be assigned for classwork, homework, entry / exit slip, or added to a quiz / test.
