This misconceptions teacher toolkit is (hopefully) all you need to start you on challenging and overcoming misconceptions in your science lessons. It includes:
A full lesson aimed at KS3 or KS4 which challenges the misconception that solids do not push up and finishes with a 9-1 graded exam question on Newton’s 3rd law. (lasting 1 hour)
Questionnaires for your classes to illicit misconceptions on Earth, Astronomy, Living Things, Magnets, Electricity, Matter and Chemical Reactions
9 different worksheets which use Analogies, CASE, Venn diagrams and Models to overcome misconceptions.
Misconceptions by Topic and Key Stage that can easily be added to PowerPoint’s and/or SoW.
A Word version of the Misconceptions Booklet (so you can take out any bits that you need)
