Work task boxes for SEND post-16: ten hands on jobs from shops, cafés, hotels and warehouses, each with Level A, B and C cards and a data sheet.

When a young person goes out on a placement, the work is rarely hard to explain. It is hard to rehearse. These boxes let learners practise the real task in the classroom first: sorting, matching, checking and following a list, the same way a supervisor will ask them to do it. Each box has three levels, so a learner who needs a two item sort and a learner ready for a full pick list work side by side on the same job.

Every box comes with a reference mat, task cards, practice pages, an answer key and a data sheet. The data sheet is the bit that saves you at review time: record the level and the prompts, and you have dated evidence for EHCP Preparing for Adulthood outcomes, RARPA records or a supported internship referral.

Savings: bought singly these ten boxes cost £39.50. The bundle is £20, so you save £19.50.

Set them up as a rotation of work stations, use them in independent work time, or send one box out with a learner before a placement. Most need only things you already have in a classroom: envelopes, cutlery, old clothes labels, a few plant pots.
