AQA (New 9-1) Biology Quick fire questions for some of the topics

(2)
Quick fire questions and answers for the digestion, cells, microscopes and photosynthesis topics. Students can use these to help memorise the basic knowledge for these topics. They can be used in many ways, such as with a board game, where students have to answer a question correctly to go forward the number of spaces on the dice and backwards that number of spaces if they get the question incorrect.

OCR Gateway A Natural selection and evolution revision map

Key information about the 5.2 Natural selection and evolution topic. I have split the triple information into a separate section so it is easy for students to navigate. I have left the text pretty plain, so students can highlight/underline as they wish to make it specific for them. I hope you and your students find this resource helpful for their revision.

OCR Gateway A 5.1 Inheritance Revision Map

Two pages of the key information students need to know about the inheritance topic. I have highlighted the triple and higher only content. I have also included a small amount fo information on cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anaemia and Huntington’s disease, as the specification is vague about particular inherited disease that need to be known and these have commonly be used at GCSE in the past. I hope you and your students find this resource helpful.

I have designed these to question the knowledge required from the specification. The higher content is highlighted with (HIGHER). Any ideas for improvements are welcomed :)

OCR Gateway A (2016) Biology DNA & Enzymes crib sheet

A revision sheet of questions linked to DNA and enzymes in B1.2. I had to print screen it to save and print it because I'd made lots of boxes that the word document didn't appreciate sorry! The second side is for higher only, looking at transcription and translation.

AQA Physics Circuit Symbols to Memorise

These are set out one A4 page on the PDF. I print them four pages per sheet and double sided, so the ‘draw the symbol for…’ is on one side and the picture of the symbol is on the other. Students can use them to test if they can draw the symbol, or use them the other way up and see if they can remember the name of the symbol.

Cells, Microscopy, Stem cells and Mitosis Revision Sheet & Powerpoint Answers

A revision crib sheet linked to the specification points in the AQA cells topic (excluding cell transport), including cell organelles, specialised cells, microscopy, stem cells, mitosis and the cell cycle. The powerpoint has all of the answers on it. The powerpoint is hyperlinked, so if you only want to go through a few answers at a time it is easy to navigate during a lesson.

Compounds Common for AQA Chemistry

This powerpoint has a list of most of the common compounds pupils need to know for GCSE AQA Chemistry. It contains a few animated tasks, involving naming the compounds when given the formulas, writing the formulas when given the compound name, stating whether the compound is made up from covalent or ionic bonds and then drawing the dot and cross diagrams for the common compounds. This is good for revision, or for using the dot and cross diagrams when teaching covalent or ionic bonding.
