Example texts demonstrating dialogue writing with direct speech based on the children’s picture book Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura. The 3 differentiated example texts contain conversations between the boy and his family when he arrives home after his adventure. Differentiated feature identification worksheets with answers are included – perfect for sharing in class or uploading during online lessons for remote learning. All resources are differentiated three ways. The model texts are useful as WAGOLLs to examine before children attempt their own versions or continue the dialogue. This resource can be used when learning about the Stone Age in history or studying the Stone Age Boy book. All documents are provided in PDF and editable Word format. This exemplar interview write up with Barney’s sister Lou is perfect to use as a WAGOLL when studying Chapter 8 of Stig of the Dump. The diary recounts a day in the life of an ancient Egyptian child living in the artisan village of Deir el-Medina, which was known by the villagers at the time as Pa Demi (the village). This village housed the workers who built and decorated the royal tombs in the nearby Valley of the Kings during the New Kingdom period, including the tomb of King Tutankhamun. These nine SATs style assessments are ideal to use after reading each of the nine chapters of the book in guided reading or English.
