Science has been and always will be a passion of mine. As a successful science teacher and faculty leader it is my duty to make science accessible and fun for all, increasing prosperity and success within the science industry at a time where we need it most. These resources are aimed at changing the standard pedagogical approach to teaching and put a new modern touch to delivering science lessons through eye catching yet relevant imagery and questioning to allow independent exploration.

This resource guides a-level biologists through how to calibrate an eyepiece with a graticule in order to calculate the size of specimens before leading onto how to calculate the size of a specimen and/or magnification from drawings and photographs. Stretch, challenge and lateral thinking questions are embedded throughout. This is a resource been made to be picked up and used by any teacher. A booklet is included which is worth printing out onto A4 which is goes with the magnification calculation questions.

These booklets are a great tool for any teacher wanting to revise in class for an assessment or to use as homework. Students are required to RAG their confidence against the specification points to start with in order to highlight their strengths and areas for development. The following pages contain a sumamrised version of the content alongside diagrams and images. Students can use this to hightlight key information and visit the areas they highlighted as a weakness. The is followed by a series of questions that students are required to answer using their sumamry pages. A blank page is proivided for students to make notes on the area of weakness as well as a page whereby they can write down concepts and knowledge that is not sticking. The booklet ends on a selectrion of exam style questions that students can answer and self-assess themselves on. Mark schemes are provided.

This activity contains an abundance of “1 markers” which are the srot of a question that should be answered with ease, no matter what the ability. The questions are form both paper1 and paper 2.
