This an interactive whole class game which can test learning of most grammar and vocabulary. It is interactive, fun and can be differentiated. Students pass the parcel and unwrap to get closer to the reward. Good as a warmer or checking learning task. Students can then make their own after so it is a good peer assessment activity. In this resource I have used connectives.

This is for English language or literacy learners, could also be used for SEN in upper schools levels, or for a review at any grade level. Helpful for KS2,3 and 4 and extremely student-centered. There is a starter, pair work activity, research activity and an activity where learners have to apply their knowledge.

This activity can be used as a basic literacy task for ESL learners or key stage 2-4. The students have to correct the text, if time allows the teacher can get the students to create a vlog with the information. If teacher has resources and extra time this can work as a great extra curricular project with food technology, drama, media studies, ICT and health sciences. The teacher can bring in the food and students can use it as a prop to make vlog. Students love this because nowadys many aspire to be you tubers. It meets literacy, communication, and citizenship objectives.

This lesson includes a discussion at the beginning, it followed by a short reading with some questions to check the text is understood. There is a vocabulary brainstorm activity; then based on the reading students can construct a persuasive leaflet about Face yoga in their community. This is good to allow learners to work in groups, to collaborate and share ideas. It helps learners gain knowledge about an obscure topic and also to develop their health and well - being. This would be good for learners to apply who have previously studied persuasive writing techniques. All in all Speaking, reading and writing are the skills that will be enhanced in this lesson. Intrduction to weird sports to build learners research and team-work skills, this lesson is engaging and fun, it will build learners cultural awareness and provide them with knowledge that will allow them to think outside the box when answering writing or speaking questions for IGCSE English or IELTS. This lesson links with ICT, Numeracy and public speaking as well as English. It is on thr topic of sports but gives learners a more critical insight. They will take part in a discussion, a research activity, presenting activity, create a survey, construct a pie chart, summarise the pie chart and then make a persuasive leaflet on a weird sport of their choice. Fun and appealing to all learning styles.

Whole interactive lesson for English about drones, they are currently a hot topic in the media and becoming a pain to some individuals. There is a lot of interactive discussion, a word search, key vocabulary, writing and a debate. Good for IELTS, EAL learners, ESL, EFL and Citizenship students and also for IGCSE ESL core and extneded learners. Also good for Key stage 2/3 differentation for more able learners.

This is for English r citizenship/ PSHE, this will help prompt learners to keep talking about current affairs and animal rights, there are 2 activities included.

Helps with basic literacy, this is a card that students can write to express gratitude and thanks to their favourite teacher. They can improve their ability to justify their choices and use the conjunction because to develop their use of connectives. This helps build a nice whole school approach, it enables learners to move around the school, be creative and enhance their personal and social skills. It is also a great task for EAL/ or primary school English learners.

For any English activity or drama activity, for example after debates, presentations, group work, and poster activities I award my learners with an Oscar. I use three categories each month and one group Oscar prize, one individual prize and another individual prize(for progress). So every student has a chance to win an award each month. The students get so excited at the Oscar concept, as it is something they know and can relate to. Instructions Photocopy the Oscars and laminate them, you can use the chart across the whole year if you just edit the dates on the document, the one here starts from Sept to Dec, simply enlarge the chart or decrease the Oscars so they fit in the chart. At the end of the month the learners of the categories will get a prize. A movie, sweets or whatever your school policy is usually motivates the students. Hang it on your classroom wall, it will get the students excited! Something visual that is always there is a great motivating tool.
