This bundle contains three resource packs – all specifically designed for the GCSE New Specifications: 1. Translations. This document is in the format of worksheets/ a booklet that can be given to all GCSE students. It is broken down into themes and then into the 12 topics within each theme. For each topic there are translation exercises both into English, as on the Reading Exams and into French, as the Writing Exams. It is 36 pages in length and contains 120 translations of varying lengths and levels of challenge. 2. For the new GCSE exams, pupils will be expected to understand all French exam rubrics. This PowerPoint goes through all rubrics needed, starting with understanding the main verbs, commonly used words and then through to whole instructions in French. There are plenty of exercises for pupils to complete and a worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. 3. GCSE Vocabulary. This is a 29 page document which contains AQA French GCSE vocabulary. The vocabulary is categorised in to sections – including themes and topics within themes. It is easy to use these sections or even break down the sections to set regular vocabulary learning homework. This ensures that over the two-year GCSE course, students have been exposed to all essential vocabulary. There are vocabulary extras, particularly in the topics of: technology, social issues and global issues.

Easily adaptable for home learning. This is a set of resources to introduce describing others and oneself. There is a lengthy PowerPoint (76 slides) that goes through describing height, build, hair and eyes with reinforcement activities, match up activities, gap fills, translations and reading comprehension. It then goes on to introduce 16 characteristics with match ups, snake sentences and reading comprehensions. The final activity is the creation of a wanted poster for students to complete. There is an 8-page worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. These resources are enough for several lessons and start from introduction through to pupils confidently using all of the new language, creating whole descriptions of themselves and others.

German GCSE New Specifications – Speaking Exam – Photo Cards, General Conversation, Reading Exam -Translations, Exam Rubrics. This is a bundle of 4 large resources: 1. A booklet that can be given to all GCSE students, containing in total 60 translations of varying lengths and levels of challenge. The translations have been created carefully and are in line with exam board exemplar materials. 2. Based on the new specifications of exam boards for German GCSE, there are 40 different photo cards, all have 5 questions. The range of questions covers both foundation and higher tiers. The cards cover all 3 themes and all topics/sub-themes. 3. This is a booklet that can be printed for each student and contains over 150 general conversation questions. These questions have put together by researching all exam boards specifications and example materials. The questions are in themes are also broken down into topics/ sub-themes. Within each set of questions in a sub-theme, they have be classified into tenses so that pupils can be clear of the tense they need to use to answer the relevant question. 4. In each set there is plenty of practice of each item. Pupils are able to practice answers to question about what they wear and what other people wear/ are wearing (present tense only). There are various activities for them to complete and a lengthy worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. Also enclosed in the pack is a word search document. After practicing all of the clothes, the PowerPoint revises colours and goes on to explain adjectival colour agreements with lots of examples. There is a table that pupils can copy or it can be printed, as a reference for all future work with colour adjectival agreements. There is then a range of exercises for pupils to practice talking about clothes and colours. This is a tried and tested method to ensure and check the comprehension throughout.

This is a set of resources to introduce and practice telling the time in French, both with the 12 and 24-hour clock. The PowerPoint initially introduces the o’clock times with practice opportunities and then goes on to minutes past the hour. There are plenty of speaking practice activities, true/false activities and writing practice. The PowerPoint then goes on to minutes to the hour with practice and then further practice of all the 12-hour clock and some O/X games that can be played in two class teams. The 24-hour clock is then introduced with a whole range of practice activities, as with the 12-hour clock. To accompany the PowerPoint there is a worksheet for all the 12 activities, which are easily editable. This pack has two Power Points that explain how to put present tense verbs in to the negative form. The first PowerPoint goes through forming the negative with n'/ne and pas for all verbs, except reflexives. It then goes on to introduce ne ... rien/ jamais/plus/que. Each section has a range of exercises to complete and there is a worksheet to accompany the PowerPoint. These exercises include transition exercises, important to start early on, ready for the new GCSE specifications. The second PowerPoint follows a very similar format for reflexive present tense verbs and has exercises to complete. Again, there is a worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. These presentations compliment my Present Tense Verbs resources, following a tried and tested method.

French New GCSE Theme 2 – Local, national, international and global areas of interest, Topic 1 - Home, town, neighbourhood and region. This covers the whole of Theme 2, Topic 1. The PowerPoint is very lengthy (69 slides) and contains work for certainly six or seven lessons. The PowerPoint is broken down into four sections: 1) Grammar; 2) Listening; 3) Reading and Writing; and 4) Speaking. There are several different worksheets to accompany exercises on the PowerPoint, as well as a transcript for the listening and answer sheets also appear on the PowerPoint. The exercises include: vocabulary match-ups; verb and tenses exercises; grammatical terms exercise; a listening comprehension with different tasks; several reading comprehensions with different types of exercises to complete; translations in English and into French; photo stimuli for written tasks; blog writing tasks (foundation and higher); four role-play cards (foundation and higher); five photo cards for speaking activities and finally questions related to the general conversation section of the speaking exam.

This is a fun cultural resource that goes through various Spanish Christmas traditions, in English, including some Spanish words. This is aimed at pupils in both KS2 and KS3. There are 16 slides of information and pictures. After that, there is a multiple-choice quiz to check what pupils have understood and/or information they have retained. The quiz is on the PowerPoint (as are the answers) but there is also a separate worksheet version of the quiz. There is a writing / drawing activity for pupils to do at the end and a separate word search document which has words from the activities.
