This lesson gives students the chance to act out Act 2 of Dara, and answer some component 1, section A style questions in preparation for their mock exam (the June 2020 Paper 12).

This SOW has a focus on the study of tragedy. Students will combine analysis, inference, planning and practical skills to eventually devise their own monologues. This SOW includes weekly low stakes quizzes, a final mid-term multiple choice and written assessment (which is self and peer marked) and a teacher-ready marksheet for the performance in week 5.

Multiple Choice 10 questions, and two short answer questions for an end of unit drama test.

Final lesson of the Commedia week, focusing on an improvised piece, and with an accompanying low-stakes multiple choice quiz.

This lesson should come after an initial introduction to comedy, and Commedia Dell’Arte. This lesson explores the four key character types of Commedia, with a key focus on the ‘master’ and the ‘servant’. Students will analyse their physicality, and then attempt to emulate it in an improvised performance.

This lesson focuses on how perspective can alter scriptwriting. Students will learn key terms, practice freeze-frames and scriptwriting, and perform in front of the class. At the end, students will have a chance to review their own work.
