Students read an extract from Bob Geldof’s diary which sparked the song 'Do They Know It’s Christmas Time?, discuss the impact of the song and how persuasive writing techniques have been used. 5 homework sheets aimed at helping students develop their skills in planning an answer for Language Paper 1 Question 5. Each sheet asks students to plan a list of powerful vocabulary (challenge to find synonyms to improve their vocab choices), a list of language devices and a list of the senses.
