This is a lesson that introduces the places in the city and the ways of transportation as well as the conjugation of the verb ir (to go) and the use of the preposition a in front of the definite articles el, la, los and las. The lesson evolves around the story of a young girl Zoe, who has to leave the city, where she grew up due to a war, and she marks all her favorite places in the city on a map that she takes with her. It is based on the book El mapa de los buenos momentos by Fran Nuño and Zuzanna Celej. Along with the story and the introduction of the vocabulary of the city and the grammar there are many activities included that reinforce the learning, such as: Two Pear Deck interactive activities- one to practice the vocabulary and the other with comprehension questions (I have included a link to the Google slides, which is required for the Pear Deck- if you cannot do the activity as a Pear Deck, you could do it as a class discussion); Flash cards of the vocabulary for places in the city and transportation that the students have to label in Spanish; Four grammar activities with ir a… An independent activity A Jeopardy game.
