Preterit v Imperfect clue words and identification practice

For each set of sentences, follow these guidelines:

  1. In the first blank, write the correct Spanish translation of the clue word in parenthesis using the word bank.

  2. In the second blank, write P if the sentence is preterit or I if the sentence is imperfect.

*There are 20 sentences total. Answer key is included on page 2.

Example:

Word bank: Cada noche / Ayer / Cada día / Anoche

  1. (Yesterday) ______________ yo hablé con mi amigo. ______

  2. (Last night) ______________ tú estudiaste por dos horas. _____

  3. (Every day) ______________ yo jugaba con mis amigos. _____

  4. (Every night) _______________ yo miraba la tele con mi hermano. _____

This practice can be used for classwork, homework, review, quiz, entry or exit slip (broken up into sections).
