A complete lesson for KS1 children with a problem solving theme, linked to fruit and vegetables.
All the resources you need are included as well as the answers to the question cards provided and a template for making more question cards.

The story revolves around Dan, a delivery driver who drives a different van each day to his customers when delivering his fruit and vegetables.

Show the first 3 sheets on the white board or print them out for each group of children to work from.
Each sheet asks the children to answer questions on Dan and his deliveries and gives picture clues.

Sheet 4 is a table for children to cut up and reorganise onto the blank table on sheet 5. Children can cut and paste or draw/write the answers in the table.
An example of row one:
Blue lorry delivering blueberries. The number of the lorry is 3 and Dan drives it on a Tuesday to Tammy’s shop.
Extend the activity by asking children to talk about each column or write about each one.

Sheet 6 and 7 show 12 question cards. Children can work out the answers individually or in pairs / groups and present the answers verbally or in writing.
Sheet 8 shows a template for you or the children to make more question cards.
Sheet 9 shows the answers to the 12 question cards.

This activity can be extended into an art lesson and the work produced make a lovely classroom display with a maths link.
