Transport around London for KS1/KS2/EAL AND ESL Learners.

Transport around London for KS1/KS2/EAL AND ESL Learners.

This is a great lesson to introduce learners to transport, showing different types of transport, the costs and how to get from A to B. This also uses money and takes costs into consideration to add more depth to the lesson. This is suitable for English, Maths and Geography lessons as a starter task or a fun review task and can be adapted for a range of audiences.

London Underground Lesson for KS1/KS2/KS3/EAL/ESL Learners! A big hit!

London Underground Lesson for KS1/KS2/KS3/EAL/ESL Learners! A big hit!

Here is a detailed lesson all about the history and story of the London Underground, followed by some information of how the tube works. Students then get Maps given to them to try and work out how long and how far stations are from each other. They also need to practice key dialogues and vocabulary related to travel, distance and time. This can also be modified to suit learners as there are key phrases and key information the teacher needs to give learners. We have found this lesson to be very popular and cross-curricular as it covers, English, Maths, Geography and History.

London Tour Bus and tourism lesson EFL TEFL

London Tour Bus and tourism lesson EFL TEFL

A lesson I made based on the resources from the British Council website https://learnenglishteens.britishcouncil.org/sites/teens/files/tour_of_london_-_exercises_1.pdf Click the sound icon to listen to the dialogue, with each mouse-click a corresponding image comes up for a basic virtual tour. There are then three activities. Students match the tourist spot to the name, number the places chronologically and guess which tourist destination has been visited based on the review given. I've also included filler activities- a word search and colouring page.

Outstanding lesson and resources on Twycross Zoo

Outstanding lesson and resources on Twycross Zoo

As part of our rainforest South America topic our Year 5s went to Twycross Zoo. The day before I had my performance management observation. This is the lesson plan and resources in which I was grading 'outstanding' in every area - and the kids loved it! Lesson based around Literacy/Geography link looking at the Twycross Zoo website and using a range of Year 5/6 Literacy objectives to complete a group task and also a challenge reviewing a range of learning across Literacy. The lesson went really well and I would definitely do it again for an observation or if Ofsted came.
