Teacher Standards Checklist

Teacher Standards Checklist

For University we have to write a weekly reflection and write the TS strand next to it to show evidence and aid in report writing. Obviously most of this is individual to my course, but you can easily alter the university and holiday weeks. My main aim was just to save people time typing the whole thing out like I did. The cover image is a preview of what mine looks like. You can cut and paste a tick into each section ✔

Departmental eMarkbook with automatic reporting and tracking v5.1

Departmental eMarkbook with automatic reporting and tracking v5.1

I have been working on this internal, Excel based eMarkbook for a while now. It contains some powerful features that are included in paid for packages. The manual will be an important part of using this successfully but it is robust and reliable. A central HoD overview of all students present, and their average grades across the year. A central log of student details which allow for filtering by student group, which enables a HoD to evaluate how certain students are progressing in comparison to other student groups. A way of managing the weighting of grades across the year. Teachers maintain control of their marksheets including the titles of assessments and the choice to include marks in the grade given. Provision of an automatic report that updates with every grade put in. Shared (can be edited by multiple teachers at once) or unshared (a single open file at any one time).

Stretch and Challenge Graph - Getting the level of challenge right!

Hand out a graph per student as they enter the room (I keep anonymous unless they want to write their name on the back) Inform them what challenge is - a little out of their comfort zone get students to plot the points of their learning journey throughout the lesson This is a great way to reflect on your teaching - was their enough challenge. The results may surprise you.

Whole School: Seating Plan Proforma / Template

Whole School: Seating Plan Proforma / Template

There is already some great seating plan proformas but I thought I would throw mine into the ring also. I have tried to keep it simple because teachers don’t have huge amounts of time to keep ticking boxes and filling in constant information. When observing I want a photo and a name as it is respectful and really helpful to be able to identify pupils. Equally, to know straight away who is above and below target to pinpoint why. A traffic light key even an SLT member can understand. I also like it when teachers write a little blurb about each student and so I have included a second page for this. It says, I know my students and I know where they are and what they need to do next. ONCE DONE - easy to adapt every term or each time you are observed. HOPE IT HELPS!! NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more excellent free and premium resources and as always please rate and feedback, thank you!
