Reading on school uniform

Reading on school uniform

A reading which practises clothes and opinions. It also introduces the students to more complex sentence starters e.g. ‘Normally I wear’ and ‘I would like to wear’. It is useful for students to complete before writing their own paragraphs on clothes. It would also be useful for cover.

6 Week Scheme of Learning and resources for KS4 My School Life

6 Week Scheme of Learning and resources for KS4 My School Life

This is a 6 week scheme specifically designed for teachers using the new Stimmt! for AQA coursebook at Key Stage 4. The tasks require teachers to have access to the audio files, students coursebook and ideally the assessment pack. Please be aware of this before you pay any money for it! The scheme I have written is very detailed, including descriptors for good and outstanding progress outcomes for low, mid and high ability students as well as clear built-in opportunities for differentiation. It then offers lesson by lesson activities, including starters, development and plenary tasks. I wrote these schemes when we changed our coursebook once the GCSE was revised. The accompanying PPT is referred to throughout the scheme of learning by slide number and I have been through to cross-reference and check that everything is in the right order (I tend to swap slides around when I’m teaching so that took a while!) Alongside the PPT and the scheme are 3 other resources - a vocab reference sheet based on the new 8668 AQA GCSE spec, a differentiated translation activity which could be used for homework, and the writing assessment which appears towards the end of the planning. I am leaving teaching in Summer after 24 years and felt very sad that the resources and schemes I had developed would never be used, so have decided to gradually put them all on here. Takes forever but if it helps someone and gets used, I’d be happy.

Mixed activity sheet on school in German, includes school subjects, uniform clothes. There’s also numeracy in here - a work out the number activity, understand the times and put them on the clock faces and an ordinals exercise. Ideal as either end of topic homework or classwork. I tend to use these when my students are doing their speaking assessment - they get it once they’ve been tested to keep them occupied while I assess the others.
