Mi personalidad - Card Game Bundle

Mi personalidad - Card Game Bundle

This game is a version of the classic I-Have-Who-Has game. This game is a way for the students to practice asking for and giving basic personal information (name, nationality, age, birthday, siblings, pets, hobbies, physical and character traits etc). There is a beginner version (with answer prompts) and an intermediate version (with clues). Print the document one-sided, laminate it and cut out the cards. Distribute all the cards randomly to the students. Select a student to begin by reading his card out loud and then putting it down. The other students listen attentively to each question, answer it if they have the answer card and then they read the next question. The game is over when all the cards are down. It is a great game to practice the newly taught vocabulary, as well as speaking and listening skills.

SUPER SPANISH MASTERCHEF GAME BUNDLE (food vocabulary competition)

SUPER SPANISH MASTERCHEF GAME BUNDLE (food vocabulary competition)

This resource is 89 pages long and includes 7 Masterchef-themed based competition games for Spanish students. Most of the games can be used with any level (elementary, intermediate and advanced students of Spanish aged 12+) and all of them include clear instructions on how to play as well as teacher answer key. All the games are designed to be played by two teams (red team and blue team) but they can easily be adapted to be used with more than two teams (for instance, groups of 3 to 5 students) or even as pairwork. Thanks to these games, students will become contestants of the popular competition game Masterchef and practice food vocabulary in a motivating and creative way. I have used the games included in this pack separately in different lessons and levels, but also all together as a final competition game the last week of the course or as a final revision game after dealing with a vocabulary unit on food. The competition games included are: - Guess the dish (12 ready to cut out cards) - Vocabulary race (2 worksheets based on food categories) - Menu competition (16 ready to cut out cards to create a menu) - Find the odd one out (6 worksheets) - Surprise shopping list (2 worksheets + menu template) - Dishes from around the world (52 ready to cut out cards) - Food taboo (60 ready to cut out cards) Unfortunately TES is having problems showing the preview of this resource due to its length (89 pages) and it won't let me upload it in a zip file. Therefore, I've included images for you to have a closer look at some of the worksgeets and games included in this pack. Sorry for the incovenience. Please, leave a comment after downloading! Thank you! Visit my TES shop, SPANISH MIX & MATCH, for tons of great Spanish resources. Sales are awaiting you every week!

Spanish-speaker profiles

Spanish-speaker profiles

Reading, speaking and listening practice. Can also be used as a framework for a writing activity. In pairs: Give students a profile each and a set of questions to ask each other. They can refer to the profiles to give their answers using first or second person. To challenge some students, ask them to create their own questions to discover more about their partner, or begin inventing new information about their character. They can also use the examples to create their own profiles for Spanish speakers or as a structure to begin building up a description of their own life or friends. Lots of options. Please feel free to give feedback if you spot any mistakes.

PRIMARY SPANISH FACTS ACTIVITIES 1

PRIMARY SPANISH FACTS ACTIVITIES 1

PERFECT FOR INTRODUCING AND EXPLORING THE SPANISH-SPEAKING WORLD! - 20 FASCINATING FACTS CARDS, 28 CHALLENGE CARDS, DIFFERENTIATED WRITING/COMPREHENSION ACTIVITIES AND WHOLE-GROUP PRESENTATION / DISCUSSION ACTIVITY ABOUT ALL THINGS SPANISH! This resource really does help to create a lively language learning environment, and offer a popular alternative to more traditional, teacher-led ’information about Spain’ lessons. Children can develop their knowledge of SPAIN AND SPANISH - and through guided whole-group discussion - their home/host country too, in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, in part independently of the teacher. There is a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling, and is a great way of aligning language learning with developing literacy skills in English. This resource comprises the following: 20 FACTS CARDS - there are four facts in each of the following five topic groups: GEOGRAPHY, COUNTRY, LANDMARKS, LANGUAGE and FOOD. There are four cards per A4 sheet, making them the perfect size for young learners. The language on each of the cards ranges from fairly basic to more advanced, which challenges and enhances children’s English skills. WRITING/COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE 1 - there are 2 options: either 2 or 4 fact recording boxes per A4 page. Children read their selected facts, and copy the information in the boxes. Encourage children to be as accurate as possible with their spelling and punctuation, to pay particular attention to the spelling and accents of the SPANISH words that are included, and of course to make sure they are recording the facts in their best handwriting. WRITING/COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE 2 - there are also 2 options: 2 or 4 fact recording boxes in this challenge level. However, there is a more open-ended task: responding to the question “What did you learn?”. This requires children to read their fact card, process the information, and then recreate it in their own words, describing the fact in the context of what they have learned. 28 DIFFERENTIATED COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE CARDS, with answer sheet WHOLE-GROUP PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION ACTIVITY, with every fact included in the presentation resource - I’ve found this a really useful means of encouraging and stimulating classroom discussion. Children can reflect on what they already know about SPAIN, and share it with their peers. Use the facts themselves to prompt discussion about the home/host country, eg “What is our capital city? Is it also our largest city?”, which really does create a successful cross-curricular learning environment. This pack comprises 6 non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully - the pack is copyright, and for single-teacher/purchaser use only. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN VIAJE!

KS4 Spanish Typical Day in Spain GSCE new AQA course

KS4 Spanish Typical Day in Spain GSCE new AQA course

Lesson covers: Basics of a typical day in Spain. I created this lesson in place of lesson on Cambian las costumbres in AQA book as I felt that it is more useful for students if they revise and have practice talking about a typical day in Spain using the present tense rather than the preterite, as is the case in the book. So, if a photo / roleplay should come up related to life in Spain, it will be easier for students to use what they have learnt in this lesson. By the end of this lesson, I want my students to be able to talk about the basics of a typical day in Spain (time Spanish get up, when and a little about what they eat, shops closing at lunch, the siesta etc.) in Spain. It is also good, but not essential, if you have already covered comparisons with your students. Lesson includes: Starter based on Tener and Tener que + infinitives. Activity One: Students write what they know about Spain in Spanish using pictures and key words on slide as prompts. Activity Two: Reading (differentiated resources included with key words / questions in Spanish) about life in Spain. Activity Three: Students add / improve what they wrote about a day in Spain using what they now have learnt from readings. Activity Four: Review of comparisons and superlatives as well as practice translating these into English and Spanish. Final Activity: Speaking practice based on AQA photo style exam. Preparatory slide with some key words students need to describe photo. Then slide with photo and questions as well as option for peer assessment. Review.

Spanish Interpreting Task with 3 scripts

Spanish Interpreting Task with 3 scripts

This is aimed at students in their second year of Spanish and we use it following Mira 2 Unidad La Gente. We also use it as a listening assessment but it can be used as a basic interpreting activity. Students find it a practical idea and enjoy completing it as it ties in with preset ideas on how they would likely use the language in the future! Also it is a rigorous test of how precisely students know the language. It comes complete with instructions for use and peer assessment sheets as it would be too time consuming for an individual teacher to assess and listen to in large classes.
