Claim the parcel translation game Yo y familia New GCSE Viva AQA

Claim the parcel translation game Yo y familia New GCSE Viva AQA

Claim the parcel translation game Activity for revising different verb tenses and topics from new GCSE AQA books. You have a table with different verbs tenses/sentences and project it on your interactive whiteboard/wall. In groups of 2 (max 3) they write the answer in Spanish to one of the parcels/boxes on their mini white boards, come to you at the front of the class (you check) and if they have the answer correct they can claim the parcel/box. You write their names/team name on a post it notes and stick it over the parcel/box on the interactive whiteboard. Then, no one can do this parcel/box anymore. The winner is the group to have most parcels/boxes claimed at the end. Works well as end of module revision or translation practice. Don't forget to feedback!

Spanish-speaker profiles

Spanish-speaker profiles

Reading, speaking and listening practice. Can also be used as a framework for a writing activity. In pairs: Give students a profile each and a set of questions to ask each other. They can refer to the profiles to give their answers using first or second person. To challenge some students, ask them to create their own questions to discover more about their partner, or begin inventing new information about their character. They can also use the examples to create their own profiles for Spanish speakers or as a structure to begin building up a description of their own life or friends. Lots of options. Please feel free to give feedback if you spot any mistakes.

A list of key phrases which may be used in writing and speaking, and which include complex phrases, based on the topic of family / friends/future plans. AQA 1.1 - Relationships with family - the generation gap

AQA 1.1 - Relationships with family - the generation gap

This well differentiated resource is based on pp.20 and 21 of AQA Spanish, Oxford University Press, Relaciones con la familia. Your students will learn how to ... 1) understand texts which talk about the generation gap 2) use key vocabulary relating to this topic 3) use más ... que, menos ... que and tanto/a/os/as ... como 4) use hace + a time to express ‘ago’ 5) use hay and había accurately 6) use en vez de + infinitive with debo, debería, quiero and prefiero 7) translate texts about this topic into and from Spanish I have included a speaking task to do in pairs to practise ‘en vez de ... debería ...’ and there is a crossword puzzle, with clues in Spanish, which is great for reading comprehension. As well as being suitable for GCSE students, I think this resource could also be used as an introduction to the topic of family relations at A Level. I have included a ppt. with answers to most of the exercises on practice sheets 1-5 so that teachers can discuss and explain grammar points, sentence structure etc. with students. Written by the author of Heinemann's Mira express 1 and 2 Resources and Assessment Grammar Sheets and Nelson Thornes, Socorro.
