Your Club, Your Way: Digital Literacy

This resource supports the Digital Competencies Framework in Wales by offering a variety of opportunities to develop digital literacy skills in a film club or classroom setting. Focussed on the short film, The Storyteller, but with other film suggestions available, a series of activities enable learners to analyse film using the 3Cs (camera,character and colour) and 3Ss (setting, sound and story) of film and also to make their own moving image content. Furthermore, there are links and suggestions for a range of apps and software that can be used to develop digital competence through film and filmmaking. This resource is also available in Welsh. Macbeth Cymeriadau Grymus - adnodd addysgol

This educational resource aims to support the teaching of Macbeth at Secondary level for students aged 14-16 years old and supports English, English Literature, drama and film studies teaching and learning. It comprises of a PDF that includes comprehensive outlines for the five activities, stills from the film and worksheets use in the classroom and the accompanying MACBETH – Power Players PowerPoint presentation with embedded clips from the 2015 film starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. Students are then encouraged to make their own short film based on the themes within Macbeth as a consolidation exercise. Mae’r adnodd yma’n cynnwys cyflwyniad Powerpoint gyda nodiadau i athrawon i gyd-fynd gyda’r gwaith, mae’n cynnwys pump gweithgaredd sy’n gysylltiedig gyda’r ffilm, sy’n gallu cael ei gwblhau mewn 45 munud i awr. Wales on Film Secondary / Cymru ar Ffilm Nodiadau i athrawon

Wales has a long and rich film history. This resource showcases and celebrates the breadth of film created in Wales or featuring Welsh talent, as well as supporting teachers in engaging with film as a core learning tool. The activities are designed to fit the National Curriculum for Wales and to encourage educators and young people to explore Wales through film, focusing specifically on three central Welsh themes: Landscape, Myth, Legend and Nature, and Culture and Heritage. From classic cinema through to modern day representations of Wales on film, the resource explores Welsh history, language, industry, culture and society. How to use this resource The resource features questions and activities based around each film, as well as thematic activities that explore aspects of Landscape, Myth, Legend and Nature, Culture and Heritage.
