This is a whole lesson looking at the different aspects of skewness, what it is, how to calculate it and maybe most importantly interpreting the results in terms of the data. The lesson look at how to calculate using Pearson's measure of Skewness, the Quartile Skewness and also how to calculate using the IQR for Outliers. 14 slides. The lesson includes a starter, learning objectives, keywords, superb clear teaching slides and examples, worksheet with mark scheme and plenary. NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more free and premium resources! As always please RATE and FEEDBACK (comments good or bad) thank you!

#### Statistics: (S1) Combining Data Sets (Mean & Standard Deviation)

This is a whole lesson on looking at combining data sets, in particular combining the mean and standard deviation. It comes with a starter, learning objectives, different small activities to assess understanding, lots of examples, and plenary. The strength of this resource (16 slides) is the excellent examples and teaching content. When looking through my files I couldn't find a particularly great worksheet or activity on this, so I have included a mixture of things that I had already, which have some good questions in. I looked through various textbooks I have and the best I saw was the Cambridge one, but again it only had a few really good questions in. NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more free and premium resources! As always please RATE and FEEDBACK (comments good or bad) thank you!

#### Statistics: Binomial Distribution BUNDLE (3 Lessons)

This is an excellent bundle looking at all the different aspects of the binomial distribution. 1. Investigation and Introduction 2. Solving problems / calculating probabilities 3. As always please RATE and FEEDBACK (comments good or bad) thank you!

#### Statistics: (S1) Normal Distribution 3 - Backwards and Further Problems (+ worksheets)

This is the third of four lessons on the normal distribution, which builds on the first two lessons. This is your A/A* material, looking at different types of questions and problems. This is an excellent resource, with lots and lots of excellent teaching slides, 21 slides. Specifically, this lesson is for teaching about how to work backwards and different questions. It does touch on linear combinations, so I recommend teaching that first (also available from my shop) and looks in detail at little issues/ mistakes that people can make. This is a vital lesson for your top end students and gives less able students more time to practise the normal distribution. I have therefore included two worksheets (exam questions) aimed at different abilities students and then come with accompanying mark schemes. NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more free and premium resources! As always please RATE and FEEDBACK (comments good or bad) thank you!

#### Statistics: (S1) Normal Distribution 2 - Non / Not Standard (+ Worksheet)

This is the second of four lessons on the normal distribution, which builds on the first lesson that introduced the topic by looking at what to do when data is not in the standard normal form. This is an excellent resource, with lots and lots of excellent teaching slides, 21 slides. Specifically, this lesson is for teaching what is the normal distribution is, the criteria for using it and how and HOW TO STANDARDISE, and again how to use lookup tables to solve problems that are in a standard normal form having standardised. I have also included questions I often used with accompanying mark scheme. NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more excellent free and premium resources and as always please rate and feedback, thank you.

#### Descriptive Statistics / Representing Data Topic Mat

Structured worksheet to help pupils take key notes and for the topics involving Interpreting Statistics in Year 1 (Scatter Graphs/Corr/Histograms/Box Plots/Measures of Central Tendency/Linear Interpolation etc). There's quite a lot here so I recommend photocopying this one onto A3. Designed for the new A Level Maths (2017+), Edexcel Specification. Calculator instructions taken from Dr Frost's excellent guide to the Casio Calculator 𝑓𝑥−991𝐸𝑋 𝐶𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑊𝑖𝑧 which can be found here: http://www.drfrostmaths.com/

#### S3 Estimation and Confidence Intervals Topic Mat

A mat to summarise key concepts from the S3 topic Estimation and Confidence Interval (Edexcel). This one is quite big so I put it onto A3 paper! I also include a suggestion for how the mat could be filled out. I usually use it as a plenary – ask the pupils for the key ideas from the lesson and collectively fill in sections over a sequence of lessons. At the end of a topic they have a topic mat from which to revise from. I also photocopy them on different coloured paper so they act as dividers in students’ folders.

#### Statistics S1

Presentations that covers the statistics unit of A level maths

#### Further Maths for Engineers

Powerpoints that cover the BTEC further maths for engineers unit

#### Mean and standard deviation

This presentation focuses on what standard deviation really is. We look at some examples of data that all have the same mean, but where the variation in data is different. This enables us to see how the standard deviation can be useful and why we need to square the values before square rooting. A good visual representation to enhance understanding of what the standard deviation of a set of data means.

#### Statistics 1 Revision - Lock Puzzle with Answers

Statistics 1 Revision Lesson - Mixture of Questions that all lead to opening a coded lock. Topics include Standard Deviation, Stem and Leaf, Expectation and Variance, Permutations, Venn Diagrams. I use a wooden box that I made with a cheap chain around it and the colour 'Bosvision' coded lock from amazon. I little bit of an expense but worth it.

#### Team Revision Tasks - Statistics 1 (Edexcel)

These are an attempt to break from the monotony of past papers in the run up to exam season. I have taken 2 questions from past papers and put them on one sheet; I will photocopy onto A3 for students to have a go in groups and discuss. The aims/rules etc are all listed if you wish to follow them and hopefully they all make sense. I have also provided answers.

#### All my resources

Doles exactly what it says on the tin. Everything I have ever uploaded in one place

#### Standard Deviation Worksheet

8 questions on standard deviation. The first two questions include the table for ease. The last question is a comparison between standard deviation and the mean.
