AQA GCSE Music: Within you, without you question and activities

AQA GCSE Music: Within you, without you question and activities

This is an exam-style question I created based on the set work ‘Within you, without you’. We worked through this together in the lesson and then they did some research on the role of the Classical Indian instruments that feature within this track and completed the table. The glossary could be completed as home learning or used as part of a starter/plenary.

Types of Musician Wordsearch Puzzle Sheet Keywords Settler Starter Cover Lesson Music Instruments

Types of Musician Wordsearch Puzzle Sheet Keywords Settler Starter Cover Lesson Music Instruments

Wordsearch Puzzle sheet on the theme of ‘Types of Musician’. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

AQA GCSE MUSIC AOS1: Orchestral music of Haydn, Beethoven, Mozart 1 page summary

AQA GCSE MUSIC AOS1: Orchestral music of Haydn, Beethoven, Mozart 1 page summary

This is a revision resource designed for students studying the AQA GCSE Music course. It is a one page summary that aims to condense the key information required for this topic. It covers the main stylistic characteristics of the orchestral music of the 3 composers, key words and information. Whilst there is a limit to the contextual information you can include about 3 composers on one page, there is a QR code link to a Padlet I have created which has wider information and suggested further listening to consolidate understanding.
