This is necessary for all students to learn prior to doing any verb work or conjugations as this is the basis to understanding any tense. This resource contains all the necessary displays for your Spanish classroom this Christmas. I use these as a game first to introduce the vocabulary to my students. They are placed around my room and students are given a list of Christmas vocabulary in English. They then have to find the Spanish equivalent. It's nice to watch students discover the vocabulary themselves as opposed to looking at a PowerPoint and writing everything down in a vocabulary book. This lesson focuses on what the Eight Fold Path is. It is suitable for KS3. In school we use the accelerated learning cycle to teach our subjects so please feel free to change 'Connect' to 'Starter' and 'Consolidate' to 'Pleanary'. This is a lesson I used for the first time this year and it worked really well with all my groups. (I had 6!) Included in the lesson are fact finding tasks, opportunities for student to highlight their prior knowledge and a questionnaire to endeavor to discover how students like to learn in lessons. This also asks students some information about the themselves that I use to build a rapport as the year progresses. It is a nice introduction to Spanish and you can do the lesson on computers OR as I have it laid out as a fact finding task. It contains various tasks to get students learning and becoming familiar with basic vocabulary & the types of verbs you use with weather phrases The lesson includes mini white board tasks, writing a weather forecast & a word search plenary. This is a very simple lesson used to introduce the topic of Islam to a Year 7 group. The lesson outline is as follows: The lesson contains a simple picture starter, some basic facts about Islam, a fact-finding task with a challenge task and finally a ‘Gimme 5’ plenary. There is also a homework task if needed.

Every year without fail i reteach the present tense to year 10 and year 11. (Bless their memories) To make it less painful and to speed up the process I use this booklet and print in A5. The booklet contains: The formation of the tense A verb table of the most common irregualr verbs Basic exercises/tasks Intermediate exercises/tasks

Sometimes at the end of a lesson it’s nice for students to show their knowledge/learning in a way that does not involve you marking or students writing. I also find that for some students, written knowledge checkers can place them under unnecessary pressure, especially when you have just introduced a topic. These matching cards are fun for students and can be used as a challenge task, a group activity, a starter or a plenary. I like printing and laminating various copies and placing students in groups. We have competitions to see which group can finish first. There are 23 animals in this set. Please note that these files are .pdf only.
