I stuck this into the start of my Year 10s Spanish book this year. It's a simple list of the Themes & Topics they will study over the next two years. Simple PowerPoint with worksheet about animal Adaptions in the Rainforest. Students will study 7 animals and their adaptions. Once this is complete students will create their own rainforest animal and annotate their chosen adaptions.

These are wee little cards that i print back to back, laminate and give them to my pupils. I expect that they try to use them when they’re communicating with me in lessons and I always have rewards on hand when they do. After a recent Ofsted inspection our department has come up with a 'Check in System' in for pupils to review how they like learning. This form has worked wonders for us and has allowed us to get to know our pupils, especially our PP pupils (Pupil Premium), SEN & MAP (More Able Pupils) much better. All student need to make progress (Especially since the introduction of the Progress 8 scores)From using these forms we have come up with strategies to help students who are not attaining or reaching their target grades and we have initiated intervention strategies. Lovely lesson to introduce students to Spain. I usually use this at the start of each term with my students. It's nice to watch them discover all bout the culture and the language by themselves. I encourage them to research all about festivals & food. I generally find it is a lesson that they talk about and use as a frame of reference later on in the year.
