Every year and sometimes every term you get at least 5 kids piping up demanding elephants toothpaste, they've all seen it in youtube and now they want it first hand, hey, who can argue with the demand. This lesson takes that high demand practical and makes them earn it, first to complete one task and correctly answer whatever question about catalysts earns the soap, the second might earn the catalyst, the third the conical flask... One of my favourites, a spin on a classic chemistry lesson, theres a brilliant analogy (thanks whoever came up with that) a unique appllication of the 1,2,3 game of which most kids will have played at least once and lots of visuals plus a good qualitative practical that could easily be adjusted to be investigatve for higher groups..
