This is a fantastic resource pack and provides you with some quality resources to support children in sequencing the story of Dear Zoo as well as to write their own letter to the zoo... Lesson 1: Children can first of all be introduced to the Dear Zoo story with the animated PowerPoint. Children can then go on to sequence the story by cutting out the story captions in their book; why not print them on to stickers and ask the children to stick the captions in the correct order. Following this children can then work with a partner to peer assess their work. Lesson 2: A lovely differentiated letter template for children to write their very own letter to the zoo.

This is a fantastic interactive resource that promotes exploration in a really engaging way. Simply make your own weird and wonderful potion ingredients by filling some clear containers of different sizes with coloured water (you can use a little food colouring or paint to do this). You can make the potion ingredients look really authentic with the fun potion labels included in this resource pack. This is a brilliant Design and Technology project and a really fun way to explore winding mechanisms. The Notebook gives an overview of the project starting with children exploring toys with a winding mechanism, exploring what real life objects use this mechanism. Children will then be introduced to their main project. They can design their castle using the worksheet provided and then have a go making their castle with a working drawbridge (It may be an idea to let children have a go at making it first, evaluating what went well and what needed changing before making their final castle). Finally children can use the evaluation sheet provided to complete their project.

This is a really fun way to teach doubling to your class. Simple print and laminate the large doubling machine (You may wish to enlarge this A3) and show children what happens as numbers move through the function machine. After completing this practically using whiteboards and concrete resources for counting id required, children can then move on to recording this in their books. The small doubling machines can be printed on to stickers or glued in.
