These self-assessment resources help to encourage deeper learning with students and assess how well they have understood their learning. There are TEN sheets of SA, easy to print off, can be stuck in by students themselves or copied and pasted directly onto the worksheet saving time. Autumn 2 - Weeks 1-5 - Linked to Little Wandle. This resource is linked to the Little Wandle Phonics Scheme. Homework: worksheets have been created linked closely to the daily phonics lessons that link closely to the scheme for that specific week. Children can practice the key graphemes, phonetically plausible words that can be sounded out and are linked to the key daily taught graphemes, tricky words, and sentences for the week. These sheets have been created to reinforce the lessons taught so that children can practice and embed their new knowledge. Sheets can be used for homework, an extended in-class activity, or a morning starting activity. There are three styles of assessment. • The first is a self-assessment line - within this there are three different assessment lines allowing children to assess their work at different parts of the lesson, they can add a comment and the teacher can also add a comment allowing pupil/teacher dialogue. They can assess against SC, WALT, Lesson content… • The second is a self-assessment personal target line -within this there are three different assessment lines. The child may select their own target or the teacher can select a target for the child. This allows children to assess their target at different parts of the lesson, they can add a comment and the teacher can also add a comment allowing pupil, teacher’s dialogue. • The third is a self-assessment timeline – this target can be used for children who are easily distracted. It can encourage the individual to refer to the assessment timeline and stay focused. Within this there are three different assessment lines, allowing children to assess their work at different parts of the lesson and encouraging them to stay focused on the task. The individual can add a comment and the teacher can also add a comment, allowing pupil-teacher dialogue. This allows children to assess themselves at different parts of the lesson, they can add a comment/NS and the teacher can also add a comment allowing pupil, teacher’s dialogue. There are 12 pages of key graphemes with 12 pages of tests at the end of the booklet where children can be tested on the spellings for the key grapheme. In this bundle, there is a PowerPoint with the alternative spelling patterns for the letter ‘U’. With a sentence for the children. There are two worksheets. The first worksheet is where the children read the different words with alternative spelling patterns. This can be done individually or with a partner. The second worksheet has a sentence on it (same as the PowerPoint). Children can practice reading the sentence and then they hide the sentence and write it. As an extension for both worksheets, children can put in the dots and dashes for each phoneme/grapheme in the word.
