Simply a template for a Diamond Nine activity!

Pupils each have a copy of this sheet. In pairs, they must point to one of the adjectives, choose someone who has that character trait and then give a sentence in French.

Type in a word/phrase it the TL on one line and then the equivalent in English opposite it (as in the example). Do this within each inner section and then cut it up into cards. Pupils must then form a triangle with the cards by matching the TL to the English. Instructions are in the notes section of the PPT. It's worth Googling 'Tarsia puzzles'!

Teach pupils how to use the modal verbs in French - pouvoir, devoir and vouloir. The presentation shows the conjugated verbs to start with and then asks pupils to test their memory by asking them to match the correct verb to the pronoun. Then, they must remember how to spell the verbs. At the end, they must translate the sentences from English into French.

Click on the word they have chosen when they have correctly identified it in the text and their score will be revealed. After introducing the time phrases, pupils must identify which tense must be used for each time phrase that appears on the board. They do this by stepping backwards (past), stomping (present) and stepping forwards (future).

This can be used in many different ways. For example, students play in teams. They choose a number in turns. Teacher reads out a word related to the topic and pupils have to translate it or maybe give a sentence with that word in it. If they are correct, reveal that number. They receive a point if there is ‘treasure’ under the number. There are 5 different templates here, as students may remember where the treasure is hidden! There are 5 different slides, so pupils can't learn where the treasure is!

Introduce the topic of the train station/la gare, using a lot of imagery and animation! Includes a Blockbusters game at the end, to practise the new vocab.

In pairs, one pupil notes down (in secret) which of each two options they will choose. The second pupil begins reading and chooses an option. If they’ve chosen correctly, they continue. If they are wrong, they must start from the beginning, remembering which of the options were correct. Prepare for a lot of laughter!
